One thing we can certainly say with even more support after today’s event is that this winter so far has been a flizzard fest with little legit snow to show for it. Hopefully we change that soon

Been out most of the day. This first picture was taken JUST as it started snowing. Every single flake stuck this morning. Not used to seeing roads white over with grass barely dusted. But it’s been very cold here recently.
Then it slacked off and melted as sun came up some more. But had a nice heavy burst to end the evening which gave us a nice dusting. Can’t beat today. High of 33.1 and light snow falling for most of the day.

I still find it interesting that there was some weak EML in place this morning before the Convective stuff, all it took was heating the surface, and boom, which happened, could be the reason for why these were some impressive snow squalls (steep lapse rates as you get heating and erode the inversion)

Thanks ! Today I just used my phone camera, I kinda regret not using the DSLR haha

Those look like some fun snow showers up in the high elevations.
NAM has some solid looking showers in parts of North Georgia tonight. Outside the higher elevations there might be some snow that tries to mix in, but temperatures at the surface and just above could be a slight issue.
