Pattern Swamptember 2021

The systems moving into AK and eventually west Canada day 5-7 make all the difference in the day 7+ for us. If we were to ever get a clean ridge in the west these massive troughs we see on the gfs would likely be close to reality. Until then though if we keep cutting the ridges short and having these lows in AK we will keep extending the ridge across the US with a fast jet along the us/can border. The pattern as a whole seems to want to favor the ridge to our west but not a lot can be done with short ridge --> fast jet
 
As far as winter is concerned, the pattern that sets up at the end of September and the first few days of October might be a good sign of things to come this winter for those that enjoy cold and snowy weather (I think that's everyone). When I lived New Jersey, a wintery October was usually a decent indication of a cold and snowy winter for my area, and it would be followed by a warm November. Love seeing that blocky appearance in the North Atlantic. And all that warm water in the West Pacific North Atlantic suggests to me that the Polar Vortex is going to get squeezed into North America.

That looks like my old neighbors house. Are you near the Seminole Casino?

FYI... That storm is sitting just to the west of Ft. Laudy cause the east coast sea breeze is being pinned just west of city by the SW flow. It's already put down 3" of rain.
