X 1.9 and CME inbound
That would be no bueno.looks like we are in the sheath of this CME and it’s showing a lot of negative BZ, could signal the flux rope (if we get one) would be negative, all though not guaranteed
There is some post-eruptive arcades ongoing. Hopefully that breaks the cage.looks like the CME is directed NE, with a shock going out in all directions (glancing blow possible) only thing that worries me is this region is showing signs of caging unlike past regions so it’s gonna take some hefty flares for the magnetic caging to break some during expulsion. That magnetic shear along the delta spot right now is really intense. Wouldn’t shock me if this one has a X10+
CME not earth directed. Has potential to fire more M-flares and X-flares.I know very little about space/solar weather.. this solar flare going to result in anything? Mid-latitude aurora?
It's possible, but unless there's some sort of delay, the coronagraph didn't show a big CME. The flare was a quick burst and not sustained.I know very little about space/solar weather.. this solar flare going to result in anything? Mid-latitude aurora?
Hopefully the magnetic cage breaks before it goes into firing range. Usually it's in firing range for like 5-7 days. It's supposed to be in firing range tommorow. It fired another X-flare but no CME due to that darn cage.It sounds like the sunspot itself is still crazy active and probably going to have some more flare action in the coming hours/days, and it’s getting more earth facing during that time.
