Severe Severe Threat April 5th-7th

Here comes the SB cape and increasing tornado threat

Morning everyone...pretty eerie outside. Sort of gives you a nervous feeling in your stomach looking at the clouds outside racing by. God speed to everyone today in the path of these storms and again a good reminder is go ahead and fuel your vehicles and charge up phones, radios, etc. If a tornado cuts through any of these transmission lines as they did back in 2011, you wont be able to get fuel out of the pumps.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern Fayette County in north central Georgia...
Southeastern Carroll County in northwestern Georgia...
Northeastern Heard County in west central Georgia...
Northern Coweta County in west central Georgia...
Southwestern Fulton County in north central Georgia...

* Until 900 AM EDT

* At 814 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Plant Wansley, or 7 miles north of Franklin,
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Newnan, Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Union City, Fairburn, Tyrone,
Palmetto, Whitesburg, Centralhatchee, East Newnan, Chattahoochee
Hill Country, Plant Yates, Byers Crossroads, Arnco-Sargent, Powers
Crossroads, Handy, Dunaway Gardens, Cannongate, Plant Wansley and
Sandy Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

If you see wind damage...hail or flooding...wait until the storm has
passed...and then call the National Weather Service toll free

You really should not be posting comments like this. There has been no risk eliminated with the morning storms. If anything the risk has increased. Please leave such comments and ideas to the pros and experienced people on the board.
 
Becoming really concerned for MBY in the predawn to morning commute hours. NAM soundings are pretty scary even the less enthusiastic GFS soundings show a tornado threat...crap
 
We have to drive from Dalton to Dahlonega,Ga to pick up my daughter today. Do u guys think there is going to be much of a break in the weather this morning? Should we leave now or wait until around 11. Just trying to see if I could get a little advice from some people who are more experienced with the weather before we head out on the road.

lol definitely feel for you Storm. I have a 6 yr old and 3 yr old that just get amped up when they are out of school. Can't imagine how it would be if the power went out. I feel for my wife since I'm at work. However, I do work at a place with about the best tornado shelter you can have...a nuclear plant.

Overcast skies in HSV. Does it look to anyone else like those storms are going to miss or just graze the TN Valley? Seems they are booking east too fast to actually make it here.

Yeah, for sure. But if the warm front carrying those storms doesn't make it here - what does that do to the atmosphere stability?

Thats very possible even then though we would run the risk of the QLCS spinups. My concern is the fact that the models are slowing the progression of the front which is allowing us to become more and more unstable.
