Severe Severe Threat 4-13/14

This is killing my American Idol enjoyment. They’ve spent 20 minutes discussing a thundershower.

Yep, just got under my 3rd severe storm warning of the evening. I hope it at least rains a little this time. :(
 
Like, seriously, I’m happy with the rain. But there is zero wind. How is it possible to have gusty winds all day long and the minute a severe storm moves over you, it goes completely calm for the duration? Allegedly, there are intense winds off the surface, none of which get transported down to the ground during heavy downpours.
 
Just over 4 inches of rain here. Been without power since about 8 last night. Part of the water system is down in the county as well. Schools are trying to go on a two hour delay today if power can be restored. (I’m in Marion, NC McDowell county)

When the line finally started moving it moved fairly quickly through here, only .73 and like you I did see lots of small debris, limbs some small dead trees blown over but nothing major at all.
 
Confirmed EF-2 with 135mph winds. Guilford County schools are closed again tomorrow. Three schools took major damage and will be located to other campuses for the remainder of the school year.
