This is already a thing in the south, there are tons of private schools that were set up in the '60s and '70s that served to combat desegregation. If the GOP's plan comes to fruition, I'm legit scared that public schools in the deep south that are already mainly funded by local taxes, which is an issue considering the poverty levels of some of these regions will be torpedoed while private schools that are inaccessible to certain populations will be bolstered. Causing a education gap in the population based off of economical and potentially even racial lines

I mean, the dude on the left oversaw the most disastrous withdrawal in American military history, allowed Chinese spy balloons to fly coast to coast over the United States, allowed decorated servicemen and women to be other than honorably discharged over the COVID fiasco, and then went AWOL.

Let's stop acting like the guy on the right is just a news host and not a graduate of Princeton and Harvard's School of Government and Public Policy, with 20+ years of military leadership experience with multiple combat tours and awards.

If anything, this pick to me proves Trump's lack of faith in current and recently retired generals not being compromised by the likes of Northrop, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Lockheed or some DEI cultural initiative with 3rd party funding.

I say this as a veteran with no political leanings. We need to get back to focusing on the mission. We set the military standards that every other country is chasing, then we lowered those standards while our foes pressed on. If we do not recalibrate, and do so very soon, China will pass us.

I doubt he's pressing to have those items outright banned, but modified with different ingredients. Trump himself loves McDonald's and Diet Cokes, so people thinking we're going back to churning our own butter tomorrow are just ill informed. My guess is we'll see the initiatives fall somewhere between where we currently are and the European model.

I haven't went through the efforts to fact check everything he's said yet but considering RFK Jr's misinfo about vaccines contributed to a deadly measles outbreak in Samoa makes me doubt him. I'm not gonna blindly trust the things he says just because he now has a high position in government

The real issue has always been moderation of these foods. Americans, sadly, are gluttons (myself included).

Another issue, besides gluttony, is the lack of exercise.

Over the past 50 years, our lives have gotten much more sedentary which has slowed our metabolisms.

With most of you being native southerners, you know people have always stuffed their face with all sorts of fatty/salty foods. Yet, if you look at pictures of the average person from the 70s and before, people still somehow managed to stay fit. That's because the average person was working manual labor jobs daily, playing outside every day, etc.
