I assumed he realized how important it is to control congress. I was wrong. He and his advisors must know dems are going to block everything he wants to do. 220-215 might have been enough to get stuff passed. 218-215 is highly problematic. Do you think it was wise for him to give 2 more votes to Jeffries?
He hasn't done that, they will have special elections, doubt dems win them all. Relax and see what happens.

Special elections rarely work out for the party in power. Dems will be motivated, turnout will be low for republicans, and they will be outspent 10-1

All dismantling the DoE and removing federal involvement in education will do is widen the education gap between the rich states and poor states. States like California will just continue to do well while most of the south will be screwed. Not to mention that disabled kids will be the most affected.

Genuine question, if the government spends too much? Why don't we just cut down on the military budget just a tiny bit instead of dismantling entire departments? We already have the largest military in the world, we are unlikely to ever see a conflict reach our shores, why do we need a nearly trillion dollar defense budget?

Not to be that guy but do you really think a state like Mississippi or Alabama, or other states struggling with poverty will really do any better than the federal government will? All getting rid of the DoE will do is allow states to discriminate against certain groups, screw over the disabled, and pretty much end things like pell grants that help kids access college.

They only makeup 17% of the states budget, yet they dictate everything under the sun using that 17% as leverage. In NC 2024, almost 25% of kids grade K-12 do not attend public school now. Home school,charter or private. Its their (feds) strings attached since 1979 DOE inception that is driving kids out of public education. Got away from just the 3 R's and hijacked with more focus on indoctrination.
