Presidential Election 2024

Btw thanks @Shaggy for having my back lol
You are a black man, how do you feel as a black man by both political parties co-opting your identity and struggles … I mean all I hear republicans saying now is “ finally black men are waking up to the truth and leaving the shackles etc” idk, seems disingenuous and icky from both sides to me. What are your thoughts ?

True, but then come the regulations on it. More regulations means more police, more road stops to be checked like the ones that exist for alcohol, and commercializing it.

As of right now you can smoke the purple haze out of it and no one notices or cares. There’s no traffic stops with cops checking for it, they are looking for drunk drivers, and that’ll change with the legalization of it.

Today it might be illegal, but I say it’s more legal than alcohol in reality. One can smoke all they want and go out in society or drive wherever they want. Alcohol is only legal if you drink at home. You go out to get a drink and the moment you crank up your car, it’s illegal. Right now it’s not like that with pot. Smoke all you want and drive all you want.

You make it legal you lose that privilege.
DUI is not only for alcohol. You go out get high and drive and you can be arrested for DUI.

In prohibition states if a cop smells weed in your car, it can be used as a just cause to search your car. Some legal states such as California and I think Illinois have actually passed laws saying that the smell of weed can no longer warrant a search.

Also, regulation isn't always a bad thing. If a BM source in a prohibition state sells you moldy flower or fake carts filled with potentially dangerous additives, pesticides and fillers, you're screwed. Most if not all legal states have testing standards for safety, especially for medical

Here are my final election predictions which will almost certainly be wrong:

Electoral Vote: Harris 276 Trump 262
Senate: R 52 D 48
House: D 219 R 216

I hope Trump can pull this out because I agree more with him on policy issues than Harris. That being said, it will be hard for Trump to overcome the high number of women who are one issue voters in this election (abortion).

That looks about right. At least 2 years of gridlock incoming.

It sucks, it all sucks. Like both Obama's speech to black men regarding Kamala were completely condescending. Meanwhile, Trump and the MAGA movement whether by accident or design(I'm gonna be charitable and assume by accident) really seems to attract the far-right types who constantly spout explicit or implicit anti-black racist rhetoric.

My vote for Kamala was pretty much me choosing to be shot in the foot rather than being shot in the chest so to speak, in my own personal view. I also have more faith in a Dem administration/Dem led Congress to enact policies I support than a GOP admin/congress

Where do you go to hear this stuff?

2 senate races

That will give the Republicans a 52 to 48 majority in the Senate. Brown has held a small lead in his race up until recently. Ohio is a solidly Republican state now and with a presidential race this year I think that will push Moreno across the finish line in first place.

Don't forget, the Senate seats in PA and WI are still in play too if in fact Trump's support has been understated.

EDIT: AZ too...

Wow, this political website has read my mind as far as the election results other than giving the Republicans one more house seat!
Sabato is a far leftist. Him having it this close is good news for Trump. Here is his 2016 prediction

Despite some wobbles along the way, we’ve favored Hillary Clinton as the 45th president of the United States ever since we did our first handicapping of the Clinton vs. Donald Trump matchup back in late March. The edge we had for her back then has eroded a little bit at the end — we had her as high as 352 electoral votes, and in the final tally we have her down to 322, with 216 for Trump. If this is how it turns out, Trump will fare 10 electoral votes better than Mitt Romney, and Clinton will do 10 electoral votes worse than Barack Obama in 2012 — 11 or 12 if rogue Washington electors follow through on their threat to refuse to vote for Clinton (but we can’t assume that at this time).

Thank you for sharing and I’m sorry so many people seem to believe they know what’s best for you more than you, or that you are incapable of thinking for your own self and if you don’t think like the rest that you must not be able to think for yourself… I’m sorry bro, it’s infuriating
