While I dislike both Trump and Biden, a Biden presidency scares me more than four more years of Trump does. Because a victory for Biden would be a victory for the far-left in proxy, even if Biden is more moderate.
Also, there is the fact that the GOP is basically screwed once Trump is out of office, because there will be nobody with the qualities he had that got him elected. The way I see it, conservatism/libertarianism is dying and Trump's election/presidency is it's last gasps.

I would just remind people of 1988. A lot can change between now and the election. Things obviously don’t look great for Trump as things stand now, though.

Well I have no idea how the election will unfold but right now we have some major issues to work through in our country. The one sided mantras from both sides is too much. The name calling is too much. The utter disdain for other humans is too much. The complete unwillingness to listen to any idea other than one's own is too much.
We cannot continue to exist as a country if law has no meaning, if honest conversations cannot be held (meaning all voices must be heard and not automatically labeled as hateful or racist or any other "ist"), if there is no trust between groups, if half the country is convinced the other half hates them, if people are not allowed to protect themselves and their families, and if everybody cannot take personal responsibility towards being part of the solution instead of just insisting everyone else is the problem. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." - Abraham Lincoln.

Meh I posted on it and I am not a professional left wing troll....I am a Republican that is very disappointed in the direction the party is going and in the nomination of Trump. Heck go read the thread then look at the post history of the posters you can tell easily if they are trolls/leftist etc by their content.....most of those stories are very relatable to me and I suspect many other disgruntled conservatives on this forum and many other places.

I can’t imagine that you were too excited about the nomination of Romney and McCain then. If the Republicans had nominated another mainstream candidate like Jeb Bush in 2016, Hillary would be in the White House right now.

Yep. The polls don't indicate much in my opinion as far as those likely to vote Trump. That silent majority is going to show up in November and they wont be voting for candidates that panders to rioters and looters. You won't see them out and about or on social media because they are sick and tired of being called a racist. If the Democrats continue down this defund the police path (and it appears they are) they can kiss the house goodbye as well. People are scared (innocent black and white folks) and I don't see them pulling the lever for Joe Biden or his VP. The economy is going to come back and the Dems don't have a platform to run on

I had no problem with either of those men, if you think that Trump is either A. a Republican or B. a conservative then all I can say is ?........as for 2016 any other GOP candidate would have won the election as they all actually had real leads in the polls, this notion that only Trump could have beat Hillary is hilarious and wrong.....Kasich would have won the EC and the popular vote even lol...

Sorry, if anyone thinks Kasich is a Conservative all I can say is I strongly disagree with that. Rubio leans right but also is not a true Conservative. Republicans have been the Party that ends up giving in to Liberals for over 50 years now, they have been a spineless party who is scared of their own shadow and of not being "liked" by the media (which is a waste of time IMO)

I didn’t say anything about conservative. My point was that the Republicans nominated two mainstream political lifers in 2012 and 2016. Democrats have done the same thing in 2016 and 2020. There’s a bad taste in people’s mouth for Washington insiders running for office the past few terms. Democrats were actually smart and got a community activist and junior senator from Illinois to run in 2008 and 2012 and look what happened. Hogwash on Kasich or Rubio winning in 2016. Trump brought out voters who hadn’t ever voted or hadn’t voted since Reagan. Trust me, I know. I helped register over 500 in the area I live in.
The 40's and 50's are gone and are never coming back. This last gasp from those that don't get it is a brief flash in the pan and will be seen as just that upon historical reflection. The world is evolving. You can fight it but it is inevitable.
