That's why we are in this mess because no one has stood up for "We the people" until now. Trump is only a danger to the Dems.
Trump is a danger to everyone with himself being his biggest enemy. Hardly a day goes by that he doesn’t continually shoot himself in the foot

That's why Bolton, Mattis, Kelly are all sounding the alarms over his stupidity?

The mans a danger to the nation. Patriots will vote for him to be out.

We’ve heard for almost 4yrs. Trumps a danger to our nation. We heard he get us into a war. Guess what there are no new wars. And president Trump has handled Iran and North Korea very well. As well as weakening Isis. He’s shown peace through strength with tough talk.

Sure everyone is worth that. But the think every small business or dollar store can pay it is crazy. A lot of jobs could be loss because some businesses doesn’t make enough revenue to pay $15hr.

Some small business will not pay it they will make things automated and then there will be less jobs.

Don't confuse them with the facts .... they have already made up their minds.

After 20 years on my job I am preconditioned to make small changes and then take stepped changes after that.

Heres a pic of my machines settings and you can see I'm making changes to the smallest fractions of a second. Every change absolutely effects downstream timers and when you make a change you have to judge and react to it. It's just how I work now.

So I see 7.25 and think let's go to 9 or 10 and judge and react and if we can go up to 10 to 12 then do it incrementally.

Every 1000 equals 1 second so we are talking fractions of a second.

Yeah NC does need an increase but it doesn’t need to be all at once, a gradual phase over a couple of years or so to give businesses time to adjust would be the way to go. Jump it to 9 then go up every 6 months or so until it reaches the set threshold.

MAGAs response to polling:

Trump is leading in the polls: #WINNING !!! TRUMP WINS BY A LANDSLIDE

Biden is leading in the polls: dO yoU rEmEmBeR wHaT hApPeNeD iN 2016?!

It’s like when the GFS model shows snow vs when it doesn’t.

Shows it: It’s going to verify!
Doesn’t: iT WiLl PrObAbLy TrEnD bAcK

Thing is the cost with any minimum wage increase will be passed to the consumer, so what is the net-net? If minimum wage goes to $15 but this causes a response in goods to keep GPMs in line with the increased fixed costs has the gen pub gained anything?
Well if that's true then how has it gone from 2.50 to where it is now? Point is still a living wage. It used to be that a much larger portion of these jobs were filled by part time kids. Now there are a lot more people now trying to make a living in these jobs because it's all they are qualified to do. Jimmy made a great post.

Easy make it only applicable to business that employ X number of people.....say 50. Less than that and they can pay lower but that still needs to be $10-12 at minimum.
Then people lose the incentive to work for a smaller business. Who would want to work at my little store for $12 if they can work at a conglomerate for $15? It’s a slippery slope

I wonder if Chick-fil-A pays more than other fast food restaurants? They always seem to have the best quality workers compared to everybody else. The same could be said with Publix especially compared to Harris Teeter. Publix has better, nicer employees and just better customer service all together.

Believe it or not I’m very happily married. Been married 7 wonderful years. and we have 3 little boys. I’m a very happy person and we are looking forward to our pigeon forge vacation we leave out Sunday come home Friday.

Happy for you. Still shocked

I totally understand living wage but at what point do you stop pointing the finger at minimum wage and at what drives cost of living? I mean look at the cost of apartments, houses, vehicles, electricity, tv, internet, water, sewer, property tax, vehicle tax, food tax, cost of a lap dance. Its crazy how many costs are built in to our day to day and how many of these people roll in beds of money because we have no choice but to pay it.

Dollar General yearly profit
Dollar General racked up $25.6 billion in revenue in 2018 and eclipsed Macy's in retail sales for the first time. Its stock is near an all-time high, giving it a market cap of $33 billion, five times higher than Macy's.May 22, 2019

Do the math on that minimum you quoted and get back to me on covering expenses for a family.
But most business are small family own. They most likely will not be able to pay $15 a hour. Imo

Those daily lap dances really add up!

And our economy has done fantastic under 4 years with Trump... not.

Despite the fact that it's illegal, little-nothing has been done about this and it shows in how little progress has been made to erase this issue in large cities across the US, particularly in the south. The evidence for this is pretty overwhelming and undeniable.

"91 percent of areas classified as “best” in the 1930s remain middle-to-upper-income today, and 85 percent of them are still predominantly white."

"There are many other cases of applicants being denied a home loan because of their race, said Nikitra Bailey, executive vice president at the Center for Responsible Lending. Bailey pointed to a 2018 investigation by the advocacy group finding that black, Latino and Asian applicants were turned away for loans at a higher rate than whites in many U.S. cities. "

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/redlining-what-is-history-mike-bloomberg-comments/

"And for the last 40 years, banks have had a legal obligation under the Community Reinvestment Act to solicit clients - borrowers and depositors - from all segments of their communities.

But in many places, Reveal found the law hasn't made much difference.

The analysis - independently reviewed and confirmed by The Associated Press - showed black applicants were turned away at significantly higher rates than whites in 48 cities, Latinos in 25, Asians in nine and Native Americans in three. In Washington, D.C., the nation's capital, Reveal found all four groups were significantly more likely to be denied a home loan than whites."

"The U.S. Census Bureau show the median net worth for an African American family is now $9,000, compared with $132,000 for a white family. Latino families did not fare much better at $12,000."

"Lenders and their trade organizations do not dispute the fact that they turn away people of color at rates far greater than whites. But they maintain that the disparity can be explained by two factors the industry has fought to keep hidden: the prospective borrowers' credit history and overall debt-to-income ratio"

"Credit score was not included because that information is not publicly available. That's because lenders have deflected attempts to force them to report that data to the government, arguing it would not be useful in identifying discrimination.

In an April policy paper, the American Bankers Association said reporting credit scores would be expensive and "cloud any focus" the disclosure law has in identifying discrimination. America's largest bank, JPMorgan Chase & Co., has argued that the data should remain closed off even to academics, citing privacy concerns."

At the same time, studies have found proprietary credit score algorithms to have a discriminatory impact on borrowers of color."

Ouch, banks and lenders trying to sequester information that would further expose their still ongoing discriminatory practices. Shocker...

"The economic and racial segregation created by “redlining” persists in many cities • Redlining buttressed the segregated structure of American cities. Most of the neighborhoods (74%) that the HOLC graded as high-risk, or “Hazardous” eight decades ago are low-to-moderate income (LMI) today. Additionally, most of the HOLC graded “Hazardous” areas (nearly 64%) are minority neighborhoods now."

Regional differences in changes of HOLC “Hazardous,” and LMI and majority-minority areas • Cities in the South showed the least change in the HOLC-evaluated “Hazardous” neighborhoods that today have lower incomes and higher populations of majority-minority residents."

https://ncrc.org/wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/2018/02/NCRC-Research-HOLC-10.pdf

"Today, neighborhoods that fall within once-redlined areas are more likely to have a higher concentration of Black residents, as well as lower incomes, lower home values, and other negative economic characteristics relative to the rest of their cities."

"According to an investigation by Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting earlier this year, African Americans and Latinos continue to be denied mortgages at far higher rates than whites in 61 metro areas. Where de jure segregation was once the rule, de facto segregation still persists."

"In Jacksonville’s predominantly black neighborhoods, 30 percent of loan applications were dismissed, compared to 12 percent in the rest of the city. According to the analysis by Reveal, black loan applicants in the Jacksonville metro area were twice as likely to be denied a conventional mortgage as white applicants, even after controlling for factors like income and loan amount."

Since we're on this topic...

"
“Sue the bastards.”

That was the slogan adopted by the National Neighbors advocacy campaign for fair housing in 1970, two years after Congress passed the Fair Housing Act. At long last, black home buyers and renters were able to seek and find justice in the courts, in part because it was possible to demonstrate racially discriminatory practices among landlords and real-estate companies. President Donald Trump made his public debut in 1973 as just such a landlord, sued by the Department of Justice for discriminating against black tenants."

Oh the irony.

I am to lazy to even to give a proper response. Good job! But, my statement is correct and some of yours also. Do you get paid to post? I am impressed.

Did he really just get rid of that LGBQT protection act during pride month? I can’t believe people are really going to vote for him...
It now defines gender as a person's biological sex. The Obama regulation defined gender as a person's internal sense of being male, female, neither or a combination. You tell me which makes more sense.

Enthusiasm is as strong as ever!!! Can’t wait until he makes it to GA

So I wonder why all the polls are not polling these likely voter? You know could make the polls a little more accurate to poll these people!

Well the problem with the most recent National polls I’ve seen is that they are weighting the poll with a Republican sample of 22-25%. In 2016, the republicans made up around 33-34% of the electorate.

What year is it bro? & you’ll never understand how real it is for LGBTQ people

2020. But doesn’t change what’s natural. All we’ve heard lately is science and data. Well then we want to start changing what science and genetics did.

Its not that simple, there is evidence that shows gender is as much determined by the brains chemistry as the equipment between your legs. So imagine how difficult it must be for someone dealing with those feelings....it is 100% possible that these people have been born wired mentally one way and physically another, but it seems some just want them to shut up and accept it or consider them deviants, instead of trying to help provide a way to fix it because it infringes on what they consider normal or natural....

It’s not what I or anyone else consider normal, God settles it pretty clearly.

Well I dont think anyone says it normal, I think even those that suffer from this disorder understand they have been wired incorrectly.....thus the desire for them to physically appear as they mentally perceive themselves....they need to be helped and treated so they can have the best quality of life possible.. What they dont need is a bunch of idiots telling them they are deviants and being treated poorly over things that they cannot control....
