Pattern October 2023 Thread

Having a break from the rain is nice from time to time, but damn. This is insane lol.

Here are the driest back-to-back calendar months ever logged in Chattanooga (records began in 1879)
1) Sep-Oct 1938 = 0.40"
2) Sep-Oct 2023 = 0.42" (as of today, with little/none expected through end of the month)
3) Oct-Nov 1939 = 0.92"
4) Aug-Sep 1998 = 1.07"
5) Oct-Nov 1924 = 1.23"

We have somewhat blocked ourselves right out of getting any benefit from an enhanced STJ since the typical October Nino pattern is far more similar to what is upcoming this weekend versus what we have seen.

I'm at .32" after 1.40" last month. My grass is toast but when I planted my garlic last night there is still plenty of moisture in the soil an inch or two down. The creek is still flowing strong too but it is spring fed.

Low to Mid 80s is way too hot for the end of October !
Nah, it feels great! The longer I don't have to run heat, the better! NBM has it looking like winter after Tuesday of next week, so, I'll take 80's once more and enjoy it. Hope to get some rain with it, as the Euro has some low development on the front before the push of dry and cold.
