Apparently, it was 34 at Bush Field (the closest official station to me) at just before 9 PM.

There looks to be good ensemble support for some massive cold air in western Canada and Alaska. The operational euro has a similar look. (I don’t have to tell you where the ensembles are pushing it) However, I’m confused as to why there is a SER present?

really need to fill in the immediate city of Charlotte under severe drought. Then expand the current moderate drought into the foothills.
I agree with the expanding into the foothills… especially northern, but CLT metro had decent soaking rain (widespread.50-.75) this week that probably won’t improve the drought situation…. But it kept it from getting worse

GFS News, It uses the clipper to get Boston nice little 6 inch snow early next week on its way OTS. Glad we cant get that out of the way.
But it hears PCBJR singing that "Dreaming of a White Christmas Melody" and delivers the goods Digitally of course.

Myfrotho704 beat me to it. Can't pass up posting the 1st Digital Snowstorm for Florida/South GA. Think everyone on the board has had accumulating snow this season on the long range GFS. I'm up to about 15 inches this season lol. Usually average around 200 probably

5-day z500a mean surrounding that fantasy storm on the GFS. This is why we love high-latitude N Pacific blocking and a SE-E Canada vortex in the SE US. Having a +PNA becomes essential when you don't have a -NAO like this ?

Bottomed out at 27.1 in Moncure. We are right on Jordan Lake though which is still in the low 60s
Kept a light NNE wind 1-3 mph most of the night last night and pressures were rising the whole night. Just enough movement to keep us from cratering last night

This actually my first fantasy storm of the season. What’s bad is that after the last several winters, I would take the 4.2 inches it’s showing and call it a winter…lol
If we can keep the return flow S/SW winds and any clouds at bay tonight we should do pretty well at getting into the 25-30 range

Does your flow always drop below your davis? I've noticed that for most cold mornings my flow is 1-2 cooler than davis

Awesome seeing wind direction changes as high pressure passes . Winds were out the NE till about 1 am then calm till 9 when they began blowing from the SSE. In Charlotte they are blowing from the west , further east is still getting NE winds.
Too little too late but GFS last minute adjustments, always playing catch up lol
