Pattern Novemburrr

12z EPS z500 was headed for glory at the end... well for me anyways ?. Need that ridge in the Gulf of Alaska & a trough to slide down down the US West Coast + eventually cut off. Certainly helps when the air up in Alaska is absurdly cold thanks to next week's Siberian Express pattern.

I have a better snow climo than RDU but only get a few inches of precip during the entire winter.

Almost 50/50 odds if I get precip here, it's going to snow. Plus, can you imagine how much evaporative cooling/wet bulbing I can benefit from in the desert? We've had 3 accumulating snows before Halloween down here in the last 40 years, most recently last year where we picked up 4" on the 27th of October.

I certainly love the retrogression of the blocking towards Greenland that’ll certainly bode well to block things up and make it harder for that SER to get going … I see a Miller B early December late November ?
 
Yeah two runs in a row with something interesting around 240 on the GFS .. interesting only because we do get the cold air intrusions before this and that’s always the first building block for a storm but I don’t see us seeing a snow event this early
