November 2025

wow! they're now suddenly saying almost 2 inches for y'all?? were you previously on the map for anything more than potential flurries/dusting?
They .1 I think and that’s it

I wonder if Chicago got a foot of snow like some were predicting.

They’re getting the last band now.

Although it has been a very nice event for Chicago overall (and with still one more period of snow now near the shoreline), especially for it being this early and for it being lake effect, which normally doesn’t do much there, it fell well short of the heaviest NWS forecast, which was for 8-12” in yesterday’s midday forecast. They did lower it to 5-12” in the midafternoon update and then it was 6-10” during the evening update. However, even those were too high. I’m trying to get the city totals now.

Edit: I just got an estimate of 2-3” but with a little more to add from the current band near the shore.

O’Hare, which is well to the west/inland, didn’t exceed 2” if I’m not mistaken. But there it was never expected to be more than 6” as I posted yesterday.

I don’t wanna jinx us but this feels like an over performer to me… mPING reports of flurries all the way to the Mississippi Alabama line.. those weren’t even modeled
Hrrr has been showing some showers/flurries breaking through down to Athens. Although downslope usually kills everything here in nw flow...I'm hoping the dynamics can overcome the usual drying. I'd put it at 10% chance but better than 0. Odds.favor west ga and the upstate. Interestingly there are already some clouds forming over the upstate

KFFC now barely starting to show the southern extent of the band. Also now starting to form another faint band near Woodstock. Still no MPing reports so im thinking it’s virga.animated.gif
