30.0 this morning might pull out one more low 20s over the next few days before summer 2026 starts
The low here near Lake Wheeler in Wake County was 28 degrees. I had to defrost the truck this morning which is something I probably won't have to worry about too much with the above normal temperatures that are forecast for the foreseeable future.

25.7F at 7:15 this morning. No torch yet..... yes, ..... Unfortunately, I know it's coming.
The end of the 6z gfs was the best thing I've seen in a while. We can quirk our way into a system like we've seen blip on models from time to time but that gfs progression is how we want to move forward

Some patchy fog burning off today and I've seen something ive never seen before. Anyone else ever see a white rainbow?

Looks like eastern NC may get the "coolest" temps for Christmas morning. But the rest of us will also get "coolish" temps compared to other (outside NC) locations. Here's RAH:
"Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: High pressure over New England will
extend generally enely turning esely flow over central NC Wednesday.
Expect dry weather with above average highs in the mid to upper 60s.
The center of the high will drift over the mouth of the Chesapeake
Wednesday night and as such radiative cooling will be most favorable
over the Coastal Plain. Expect overnight lows to dip into the mid
30s along the I-95 corridor with lower 40s expected elsewhere."
***At least we won't have to open windows or run the AC. Little wins...

If the Canadian is correct ( lol). Our coldest low temps of the winter will be here in 9-10 days. Lot of low teens east of mtns, borderline single digits.

Old cell phone has a high temp of 53 here now for Friday. I booked a tee time thought we where gonna hit 65-70. What happened?
Need to pull out the new cell phone to get better temps.

RNK now has temp near 50 here on Friday, and mid 30s for Monday. My guess is Monday will be trending even colder as we get closer.
Lots of Friday forecasts going to be changing around here lol
alrighty so basically the story of the week is vague upslope slop for the mountains gives high elevation drizzle and fog, downslope east of mtns should cook the foothills past 70 xmas eve and day, god's chosen warrior the one-day CAD saves cold weenies on friday, cook again saturday probably although day-after-CAD forecasts scare me, and then sunday we await cold front

Yea, told crew we gonna have to play Saturday now. But like you, I'm always skeptical any post day Cad warmup. If it happens , its usually damp cold most of the day before partial sun breaking out 2pm. dark , 3 hours latter. No bueno
