Wintry More SE Snow ? (1/16-1/18)

Alex City is about 25 miles south of me and their plumes mean jumped from .35 to .93. B'ham is about 50 miles to my north and they jumped from .33 to .67. Hope my area does good. Inch of fluffy snow would be nice. Alex City boom is 3.11. B'ham boom 4.35

Thank goodness it doesn't look like snow will start early in ATL area, with the help of temperatures that are currently well above 32. So, no snowjam repeat it appears. that was my biggest concern for there.
Meanwhile, holy heck, 26 and sleet in Houston, TX. Wow! Another wintry event there!
15z Sref Mean have once again increased for Columbia,SC!! Maybe we will see a good inch out of this system.
Its amazing that Bham has two big boom members. I think 2 inches is very possible with higher ratios.

At this point the Euro has little credibility in my opinion. Go with the SR models, they are your best bet.

Best thing going is snow appears to arrive after school and, hopefully, after rush hour.

A winter storm warning has been upgraded for Lancaster in Chesterfield County’s in South Carolina. I'm not sure what the criteria is to meet that warning. Here it's 3 inches. I really wonder if NWS Raleigh is going to upgrade to warnings or not.

18z Nam is running. It looks to keep that line through central AL and GA together a little stronger and wider than 12z.

One thing I'll say about both the KFFC and KATL SREF plumes is that the mean isn't being skewed by one or two really high members, but many members above the mean. In fact, I'd argue it's being skewed downward by several nearly 0 inch members. That bolds pretty well for those areas and even another possible increase on the next run.

Yes it runs out to 18 hours each run. The new hrrrx runs out to 36 hours on the 0z,6z ,12, and 18z runs

I think Warning criteria is 2 inches or more. Up to 2 inches i dont think fits that criteria.
