Wintry Midsouth Winter Storm January 12th-13th

As i said earlier south east trend ftw!!! Nothing set in stone yet but if you live in northern Mississippi northern Alabama and west and middle Tennessee i would definitely keep an eye on this! Someone I do believe in the area is gonna get crushed!!!!

Well on to the gfs and Canadian guidance.
Maybe they will bring the goods also.
Curious if they will trend southeast with the low

NAM just said "Sorry Memphis"

What we need to see is a nice bowling ball ULL that closes completely off for the duration its in the SE. Get it past GA and we get a strike lol. If only it hooked north 50 to 100 miles east.

Still possible to see it shift by that many miles, and maybe more.

Think need to pull band/vort back W a bit I think in the end it is maybe a App Runner or maybe up the W side of the Appalachians i.e NAM little too fast E on.... Having said that the trend has been more to the E today... Also watch out for strong to severe storms on the warm advection side peeps!

Really hoping the models can bring back the goods today for Memphis, NWMS and East AR. I think I will feel somewhat defeated if this thing keeps producing better results east of here lol

never fear, I've never seen a seriously absurd SE trend with these kinds of storms.. you're in the money.

Edit: you may, however, whiff to the North.

I wonder if this energy has started to being sampled yet on the west coast? I’m sure that could play into total outcome with models as well.

Trends aren't great for AL. Inch by inch, the snow keeps creeping north. May end up where only the northern counties get anything worth mentioning. Really thought we were going to end up with a good system for central AL, with a more SW to NE orientation of snow. Still time!

Still time yes, but this was never really a central Bama system

At work, can someone post euro
I would say a good 1-3 inches for north Alabama with more in southern Tennessee.

I believe this is a I-20 northward special.
