Pattern May Flowers

I really wouldn't punt until you saw what was going to happen with the stuff over towards rock hill. Looks like there is a meso low with that which could keep it going into your area in the next hour

The storms are fading as they drift west and north

I've had 5.93" of rain since May 15th and while I'm pretty sure it rained again today I think I've just missed really getting hit hard again like the day I got almost 3 inches.

This is cool for a stretch but eventually it's too much when it's starting to bring out the ants, and it is.

its gonna be a long summer here I can just tell

Already got all-time highs on the models

Kind of bizarre that we're about 2 inches below normal in rainfall this month even though it's been cloudy, wet and muggy for so long...

With still 3 days to go and partially thanks to Alberto, Augusta has already had a whopping 7.85" of rainfall this month. Per records that go back to 1871, that places the current May already at the 3rd highest on record! The only others wetter: 9.61" in 1979 and 8.63" in 1873. I'll be closely watching to see if 2nd or even 1st place will be overtaken with the showers in the forecast the next 3 days.

TWC said Dallas was forecasted to hit 105 Saturday! That sounds fun!

I officially cleared 10" on the month yesterday at my locale, which really started May 15th. And it's raining hard again so I might be adding another 1"+ to that.

I'm south of the airport, but there's really only one reason for the difference, a popcorn storm fired up and sat on top of me Sunday the 20th and didn't really get to the airport.

rather have heat than this stubborn never gives up pattern.. ugh, ready for a change. Don't give a crap if we 'need' the rain..

Yeah, I grew up in Central Texas heat, I remember, but I was a kid, athletic and could handle it back then.. :) This soggy, humid weather is getting on my nerves.

Yep, nice frontal passage, temps down to low-mid 80s, then , NC, SC peeps need to watch for MCS’s pattern as early as this Friday/Saturday, coming around the Plains death ridge!

And those areas to the south have received a widespread 5+ inches, with spots up to 10 or greater. Some of it is spreading over into GA now too. Just hope it doesn't give Helen too much rain, as they are having flooding issues this morning.

Wonder if that complex sets off more storms in E GA and W SC, as it looks to be collapsing

Got another .6 this morning, so I'm just a bit short of 8 inches for the last half of the month. Two tenths today will get me there, and radar has more rain headed this way. This morning's was a down pour...love those. So, now I wait to see if this wet ground will translate into lower temps going forward. I can not remember a better spring/early summer than this one. 78 now on the last day of May is unheard of, lol, though I'm sure Larry will correct me :) Cloudy and 70's is my kind of summer, and if I don't seen the sun until Nov, I'm fine with that!

This last one while I was at the grocery got me to 8 inches even in 14 days. 8.1 in 15 days. Not as good as the last two weeks in Dec two years back when I got 18 inches, but given this is a dry month on avg. I'll sure take it, lol. This beats the hell out of drought, and I'll take all I can get any time. I'm on high ground, and I have a boat :) Down to 75 now on June's door step, I'll take that every summer too!!!

I've created a website to house my winter storm archive for North Carolina, and the first 20 years of data (1895-1915) are available on this website including individual storms, seasonal means, and even decadal means! I'll expand this archive and the number of available products on a regular basis thru the present and hopefully the entire nearly 125 years worth of snow maps will be complete before next winter comes to a close! Enjoy!

Future radar shows Asheville to GSP getting plastered with massive storms this evening, from about 3-8pm window! Just what the mountains DONT need!

Does anyone know what the pattern for the se will be late next week into the weekend? Im thinking we are due a ridge with a western trough.

Wow Helen is getting drowned today again. 3 inches the last hour and over 10 the last 3 days, maybe even over a foot. Roads are being reported submerged.
FFC Has a Flash Flood Emergency for most of White County at this time. Per Media reports over 18" last 4 days.. 6-7 inches since noon today

Unfortunately, it looks like they are going to keep upping those numbers. Another complex is supposed to come through tomorrow as well as the following day possibly. They seem to be approaching 2 feet for the month now after today's rain. And what's crazier is that they now have had over 40 inches for the entire year, a majority this month.

Tomorrow is a nice setup for a forward propagating line of storms starting in the foothills and possibly lasting into the coastal plain by evening.

They're gonna be releasing water from Lanier for a month at this rate, no tubing downstream for quite some time. Hate it for the folks up North too, the Dam can't help them. Imagine the flooding downstream without the Dam..

How long do you guys see the dry pattern lasting after this weekend?
