March 2026 - Winter or Spring?

HRRR has backed off some, but I am still a little curious about the flakes chance tomorrow. To go from mid 80s to seeing flakes 18 hours later would be pretty wild if it happens. NAM is not real excited about it here but looked better east. pretty wild if someone sees it happen!
im up in DC for work -- and it was a high of 88 yesterday, still WARM around 10pm last night, and yet supposedly the current cold rain is going to shift to snow within the hour here. ABSOLUTELY WILD.
 
My wife just called me, said she had some puppy tracks splattering the windshield in the Pilot Mountain area. Said it was definitely something mixed with the rain. Wow, after a high of 86 yesterday... That's Murch for ya!

Localized heavy snow has lead to accumulating snow of 1 to 2
inches on roadways in counties of the New river Valley and along
the Blue Ridge in Floyd, Carroll, and Grayson county. Snowfall
should start to diminish in intensity over the next 1 to 2 hours
across the area with additional accumulations of up to half an
inch possible. Dissruptions to travel may occur until the heavy
snow stops. Melting of snow on roadways is expected given warm

I just got off the phone with a client in Greensboro. He reported sleet while we were talking. He's an airline pilot so he knows weather.
 
poured heavy snow for a couple hours in DC - im downtown so didnt see anything stick on the sidewalks or roads where im at but im sure theres a dusting around the parks etc.
slowing down now, but that was a fun mid-march spurt of snow!
