Wintry March 16/17 2026 Snow

For Georgia, outside of extreme NW Ga., radar and satellite look to be confirming the CAMS in lifting out the best lift to the north as the snow band moves eastward. Good to see our Alabama peeps score a nice surprise for many.

Pretty impressive stuff, especially to get daytime stickage with soil and BL temps so warm and mid-March sun angle. Rates must be crazy! Unfortunately, it’ll also melt super quickly because of those aforementioned factors, but something is better than nothing and this seems like an overperformer!!! ⛄

Any reports of snow in ATL area yet? The current band with sleet reported is starting to pull out but there’s a second much thinner band to the west. Will that hold together? I don’t know.

Wow, impressive Birmingham got 1"! Definitely didn't expect that to happen! And at this time of year, too!!!

Snowing in Jasper, Ga. Moderate at times. Temp steadily falling … 34.5 at my place. Sticking a little to elevated surfaces but will need to get below freezing for any accumulation. Roads likely still too warm.

Big time snow shower about 10 minutes ago in Downtown Atlanta. Swung through so fast I couldn’t even make it down to the street quick enough but it was ripping for a second
