Surge may be worse for many areas after the eye passes and the winds go from barely offshore to onshore when it shifts to the SW winds.
Hmmm wonder if they'll up this to Cat 5 on post-analysis next year. Lots of radar indicated cat 5 winds as it neared the coast.
This is the strongest Louisiana hurricane landfall since the 1800s before the Civil War!

Im surprised Cameron hasnt reported gusts well over 150 since its sustained at 150.
PROBABLY CANT REPORT ANYTHING
If they don’t get ground confirmation of that type of winds, the numbers they reported of 150, were those supposed to be ground level? If so, what would explain that?
The TWC crew in Lake Charles almost got taken out by debris
To be fair they usually don't confirm the surface winds on land because they decrease so quickly and communication usually goes down anyway
They'll end up most likely using a combo of radar and the recon obs
Cantore and Abrams are a great team. Love watching them.
