Not sure it will make a difference. but the southern part of that eye isn’t as impressive as it was. Maybe the eye opening some which could be a slight sign of weakening slightly not much

Radar tilt. It makes the storm look worse than reality. I'm sure if you saw the HH radar on their planes it would be a perfect solid ring.

And add in the fact that beam has to travel through the northern wall and bounce off the southern wall to only have to travel back through the northern wall to return to the dish.

Its there on several different radars....the southern eyewall has really ramped down considerably in the last hr or so...

Sometimes they have no $ to leave. Saw it with Katrina.
I was going to say, someone on Twitter pointed out that the average income of the citizens of Lake Charles is somewhere around 22k... this is near poverty levels... a lot of these people may not have the means to escape and stay at a hotel far away from the coast for potentially weeks

So those kinds of people are being left to essentially die? I cant with this world man, we are all up in arms and crying and hashtagging when a strong noreaster ( Sandy) hits the NE but when a possible cat 5 is barrelling down on some poor folks like this? Do we leave them? Screw this crap.

I mean they did have shuttles, buses, and planes come to pick up anyone who wanted to evacuate. Some people just want to stay in their homes and think they can ride it out.

Surely hotels would waive the fee for people who are desperate and trying to seek safety.

They've been coordinating buses for people to get them out of the evacuation areas. I've been seeing this all day. I saw a paralyzed lady get out with the help of her local officials. If you ain't gone by now, what the hell else do you want everyone to do about it? How much easier do we make it? The truth is that people didn't use these resources.
