I’ve got 57 degree thunderstorms for the last hour lol. Big time rates. I’m over 4” now. I fully expect to be near 6” by the end of this in the morning

Confirmed landslide in McDowell county on highway 226A. Just heard of another one in McDowell county but can’t confirm just yet. Right at 6 inches of rain now and still more to go.

McDowell County confirms a landslide has occurred on NC-226 near Little Switzerland McDowell/ Mitchell County from heavy rainfall this evening unfortunately some areas have now seen 5-6+ inches of rain across parts of the Blue Ridge Escarpment.

The Rocky Broad River at Bat Cave is beginning to flood due to excessive rainfall in Rutherford County.
At 8FT which the river is approaching.

The Crooker Creek Community has reported 5.5 inches of rainfall. Sugar Hill is reporting 5.18 inches. Old Fort is reporting 4.87 inches.
Officials said there is roughly one foot of water across Lytle Mountain Road in the Sugar Hill Community, as well as one foot of water across Old Fort-Sugar Hill Road.
