The Videos of all those waterfalls in Transylvania County are gonna be a site to behold Friday. Also Snowman up in Mcdowell County /Marion area will have a story to tell no doubt. He's with VFD up there

First rainfall has arrived here. Looking like pretty rapid strengthening is commencing. Widespread gusts into the 50s looking more likely across the upstate and southern foothills of NC. Still not sold on numerous 70 mph gusts, but if that happens, particularly with all of the rain that has fallen already, it will be an unmitigated disaster zone across a large portion of the area.

After an 1/8th inch day of drizzle, and occasional light showers, I'm in Helene rain now. The kind that piles up...like yesterday afternoons rain. If this gets like TD Alberto did back in 93, I'll need a regulator and tank to breath outside....and diving weights to slow down the side ways/backward drift, lol.

Four tornadoes side to side, radar indicated NW of Waycross, GA heading north

It's the clusters in those bands that makes dodging so iffy. Feels like a shooting gallery when one of these bands comes up. The two including Ivan were bad here that way. Like a scatter gun going off south and here they come. The weather radio going off over and over. Radar lighting up.
