If that sets up and stays there the area from Greenville to Gaffney is going to be buried. I-85 will become a nightmare.

Finally a light dusting here with beautiful light snow swirling in the wind. You can really tell the radar is about to blow up over the entire upstate... we haven't see anything yet.

We are at just over 6 inches as I wake up this morning and still coming down nicely. Think we make a run at the foot mark today.

Is there actually a slot of dry air over our region the precip can’t overcome or is their just two distinct regions of precip and we’re outside both of them?
Which radar are you using? Radarscope?

I expect the dry slot in the Raleigh metro to be complely decimated by around noon.

Man it is puking snow right now.
Western facing slopes and adjacent foothill communities on western side really racked up. Balsam Gap, shown earlier is notorious for doing well. Ive rode across there in May early 90s , foot plus snow, when mt pisgah got 50+ inches.
I’ll add to the Mooresville crew that had already posted…. light snow falling, maybe 1/2”? What wind we have already is blowing it around. Good start!
18 here in Chatsworth. Moderate snow with blowing snow. Around 1.5 inches so far
Agree. They just gotta hang tight. You will squeeze every ounce out of the amosphere today. Future radar pounds them early afternoon

Just checked Correlation Coefficient and I think it non-meteorological, probably birds?

Woke up to roads covered. When a moderate band swings through it definitely picks up. Is the fgen setting up where it was expected or moving north ?

I can tell just by looking at my window that the snow is picking up again. Looks like the main event for us CLT folk is starting.
.5” in Matthews already and barely any heavy returns over my house but pouring flakes!
