RGEM added two tenths of QPF over its 18z run
FWIW the 0z ICON is a crush job again with highest amounts in and around CLT then along the coast. Dry slot not nearly as prevalent.

RGEM is holding steady at 0z. It has a band setting right along the coast from just north of Cape Fear to close to Morehead City that if it’s right will probably have 24”+ totals.
Gatlinburg I'd assume.

I'm not sure if this graphic was updated before or after the earlier onset was noted but still a general idea. It's around 9am-11am depending on area for 1" arrival and this is for 3".

So in a rather big development, the hires RGEM(their HRRR) just took RDU and upped QPF from .24 to .62.
More than doubled almost tripled QPF. More coastal influence or more ULL influence? Or more of both?

I was thinking about trying to take a nap before it started and then looked at the radar. There are echos in white county so I may stay up and see if it’s virga or reaching the ground - it’s a bit earlier than I thought. The temp has been slowly dropping all evening and down to 34
GFS still cooking! Impressive

Still can't grasp a sub 990 low that close not throwing gobs of qpf back west
