Pattern June Presented by: Heat and Humidity

Wow warning for city of charlotte. could they see a tornado upgrade?

No. There is no rotation in that cell. And it's going to go north and miss Uptown by a few miles. Wouldn't be surprised to see damage reports. though. Much like snow/ice in the winter, storms love the I-85 corridor and NW. If you're to the SE, forget about it. Edit: Storms forming to the south of the main cell... will this actually produce for me?

I think is the day for all of Mecklenburg county. Meanwhile for Union county sc and most Spartanburg county it'll be months before we get hit.

That was one hell of a storm going through New Bern earlier. Got caught on the bridge towing the boat. 60+ winds and at least nickle size hail. Some of the worst lightning I've seen all year and at one point visibility was near 0 with the rain. Was driving so I couldn't get any photos.

The driest spot at hour 360 on the new GFS run in SC and NC is centered right over Spartanburg. No way it'll be wrong either.

I am sorry I keep on complaining, but this is just asinine that my area of Charlotte can't even get a rumble of thunder. Everyday. It never fails. It's all good, I am hoping to move soon, so maybe my luck will change.
To where?

Took this after the storm. Not bad for an iPhone.

Watching a massive light show over the ocean right now. Some really nice storms developed out about 50-100 miles and are really producing some lightning. This is one of my favorite night time beach activities. I could watch this for hours.

Models are pretty underwhelming with convection today in this area. It'll be interesting to see if the MCV east of Chattanooga this morning can get anything going later today.

NAM is pretty interesting tomorrow, instability gradient, a legit MCV, solid wind energy, perhaps a MCS ? D94EEDFE-2A08-424B-AF2F-03C03115FD23.pngAFD95F4C-B555-48B7-8596-4516672F69F5.png107EFAF5-461F-42BF-900F-E2D62FC94E0B.png184C1A4A-45FB-4A19-8AC3-553A9CC791F4.png

Despite the large marginal risk a lot of us may have to wait till next week for some action. Lot's of cloud cover especially over the Upstate and GA/AL. Unless the clouds can manage to dissipate, we won't destabilize enough for any widespread convection.

HRRR gives north western NC high wind event today for several counties. NAM sends Wilkes a supercell. Some coverage could make it to Charlotte in the evening but highest chances are west of I-77.

Looks like I may see a couple of thunderstorms around in coastal Florida today. I’m fine with at least one day with storms throughout, but I would prefer nighttime ones so I can watch the lightning over the ocean. Gonna make the most of the dry weather today while I still got it.

Hmm... wonder if we actually get an organized line of some kind or MCS going today as opposed for tomorrow. Sun is out, guess we’ll wait and see.
