Wow, how things can change in less than a week. Got around 2.3" this afternoon. Add that to the five-day total and I'm almost at 9". The pond next to my house is running over.

I got a whopping trace of rain out of that Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Wake County. It was disappointing to see that storm weaken and fall apart as it approached my residence. Maybe tomorrow will bring the gully washer I've been waiting for.

Might have gotten more tonight than last night somehow. Need to go play the lottery with this luck.

Somebody between Savannah and Morehead City is gonna have an overnight low of 85 or higher later this week. Shallow water inshore is heating up like crazy and if winds go calm that'll do it.
