Looks like we have 2 low level boundaries right now one from south central VA into the NW piedmont and the 2nd just W of 95. In an ultimate game winner scenario they are the origins of convection today and we get an outflow collision in the middle which would be most of the rdu crowd
I think a lot will depend on just how widespread and how much rain falls the next two days, but yeah I think upper 90s is definitely gonna happen Thursday. That looks to be a one day shot though as models have started backing off a couple degrees on Friday.
Slight risk for severe storms today
Those who like it hot all the time in summer best enjoy the next 5 or so days as the last two GEFS runs, including the new one, are significantly cooler in the E US afterward with no warmer than near normal from then on for quite awhile.

Just got a Severe Watch. Hope it's true. The Low scrub this morning finally burned off and it sure did warm up.

Today is the third day in a row with a heat advisory being issued. It will be interesting to see how long this streak continues.
You’d think 65” of snow over the winter, would keep more soil moisture in the ground! ???
