Observations January 2020 Obs

Only 15 freezes so far this cold season 19/20 for Chattanooga. Going to hit 20+ by end of next week, but that's still a very low number. Might be chasing a record, unless Feb streaks BN.
 
50.7/27.2 that's a rather large difference for the night before some rain is supposed to move in
 
38 thick clouds hoping to see a pellet for our only winter weather

Yea that's what I'm hoping to see..a few flakes or sleet pellets. Pathetic as that sounds this may be our only shot.
Mist has stopped temp dropped another degree..its raw!
 
Same her frank..35 and some light something falling..temps have steadily dropped
 
28 degrees on my porch thermometer.. winds gusting to 16. Yes, it was this cold on Nov 12th. The odds are 50/50 we go lower than the 22 we hit in November. If this is the last pure arctic front of the season it would be a rare one indeed if we don't officially hit the teens at the airport. Like one in 30 winters kind of anomalies.
 
According to my Facaebook friends back home on the northern Outer Banks, it's been snowing there off and on this morning. It looks like a classic streamer coming off the Chesapeake Bay (see AKQ radar).
 
Topped out at 24.8 today. I’m surprised at the flurries I have had. It’s still spurting flakes pretty often. Going on 12hrs of flurries now.

there is something oddly satisfying about seeing it flurry for an entire day.
 
It's already 28F (30F at the airport) at 8:10pm here despite it still being windy and clear. Our low is supposed to be around 26F (NWS), were likely going to bust on the low side of that if temps keep gradually dropping and don't level off soon.
 
44 high/32 low at the house today as far as I know. Was cold to me but not that bad when I was outside this afternoon.

Currently 35 at the nearby airport.

KATL is already down to 25 at 1 AM meaning a good shot at the coldest of the season to date. Currently, the coldest is 24. But there's a chance that cloudiness coming in with the upper low will stop the fall soon.
 
It's supposed to get down to 23 tonight here, currently at 31.
