We should probably annex Chattanooga into SC...I really hate Chattanooga's climate. Hot as crap in summer (even hotter than Atlanta usually) and then in winter seems like areas surrounding Chat always get more snow than Chat itself.

I personally don't think they're high enough. Need to be at 3300' or aboveDoes elevation of lookout mtn or signal mtn help those locations or are they still not high enough?
Any idea what's happening up on Lookout Mountain? We have a cabin up there on Saturday night, not far from Cloudland Canyon. On Wunderground, looks like the stations are reporting around 30° to 32°.yep. big differences in wintry wx with elevation, especially during borderline / marginal events. great example, just this past Monday morning, parts of Signal picked up 3-5" of snow while the valleys had between a dusting to less than 1"
I bet the pizza delivery guys will be making a lot of money today.4 inches now although only took one quick measurement. Temp has held steady at 28 degrees.

Certainly helped with Sunday nights storm. I got 4 inches here on Lookout, similar for Signal, and just a dusting in ChattanoogaI personally don't think they're high enough. Need to be at 3300' or above
Congrats to those in Tennessee. Nashville is getting smoked some of the heaviest returns of the day moving through now . What a storm for them

As impressive as it seems, this might only barely crack the top 20 list for Nashville.
It would be the biggest storn in 5 years though.
Would not be surprised to see a couple double digit accum reports around Nashville and points just north by the time this is done. I expected Nashville to be close to done by now but they are about to take a hit from the back end which will support improving ratios.

Very similar to what we saw in Central VA earlier this week, front end WAA thump followed by a heavy back end with very little time in between. Most of the snow fell over a 5 hour period, and it was easily 2”/hr rates.

8.2” is the current benchmark set at the airport and that was in 1968.

looks like some rocky mountain powderWe are getting crushed with high ratio snowfall. I had 5" before this last round started. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up 6-7" by the Nashville zoo.

Yea, we busted low for highs yesterday but ten busted way high for lows last night. Then today has been too much sun early. ? RAP soundings look ok above the surface but the surface is to cool vs reality. On the other hand dews are to warm on the sounding so we may cool pretty fast?View attachment 102250
Man this looks great!! Only if it wasn’t 49 f——-ing degrees
