42/23 now. Hasn't moved much either way in the past couple hours, but winds have shifted from E to NE and picked up by 5mph or so. No precip since some spotty light rain a few hours ago.

Starting to break containment and saturate. Some valid mping coming in

Same. The ESE winds I have are pumping in warm air, it will probably be to much to overcome for my area south and west when the cold finally decides to move southwest from NC.
Same, 46.8/30.9, this will not make an ice storm. If we held 44, I maybe would have thought we had a chance.

It will be a lot to overcome, so we will see. Short range have held steady with temps crossing the freezing mark around 1am. We will know more later tonight.

I mean we were 50 yesterday and we’ve been in the mid to upper 20s all day today in the triangle.
The cold air has definitely cruised past your location, its fighting a battle around Greenville right now. Again though, outside of being well warmer than forecast here, the progression has gone according to modeling.

Wish I could track this without skin in the game. Pulling for more frozen/solid obviously, but it doesn’t matter, cause weather will do what she wants regardless. Prepared for the worst, hoping for the best. (all that jazz)

It hit me today Raleigh hasn’t had ANY "ice storm" since 2002, much less a major one. (if I’m wrong on that let me know BTW) Growing up in the Triad made me respect any ice potential and I pride myself on being fairly knowledgeable on impacts/scenarios. But I moved here in 2009 which means it’s been over a decade and half since I stared at the barrel of a potential major one. Maybe I’m not an ice vet anymore like I thought if it's been that long. 🤔

Good luck to everyone under the gun across the board.
