Wintry Jan 23-27 Winter Storm Obs

I’m at 34, original low was supposed to be 38
The initial push of cold air from the northwest is penetrating further and quicker than models projected. The question is when our winds shift, how much do we warm up tonight. Our cold air is technically just now passing by Greensboro, NC and headed southwest, on schedule to be here tomorrow afternoon/evening.

This was the 00z 3km NAM's temps for midnight tonight. Just a tad off I'd say.

Currently 25.3 degrees. Arctic air really pressing in now. I'm supposed to get down to 20 for a low. Not sure if I'll get there. But the temp is dropping fast right now.

How much did you end up getting? Was thinking 8-10” looked good for Tulsa.

Only an inch or two so far... The first round kind of fell apart or something. I mean it never really stopped snowing and still hasn't at 5am but the rates were so low it wasn't gonna do much. It's looking like we might try for 6 tonight into Sunday morning

I think barring something crazy yeah we're not setting a record... 8-10 sounds fair to me

Dry snow is always harder to pile up and we're seeing it yet again

CAD is really cool. Usually you can expect the cold air to come in from the northwest or west. But with CAD it's more north to northeast. Right now, the coldest temps in central NC are NE of Raleigh. Henderson has dropped to 22 and still falling.
