UNCA soundings have been showing a massive warm nose being between 700 mb and 800 mb. Here's 6 pm sounding.

There is genuinely an insane amount of mping reports around Charlotte. It’s almost hard to keep on
A bit concerned that I decided to wait until tomorrow to leave my home to my brothers family. Whole home gen. And my 2 rescue dogs. Granted it’s only about 8 minutes. Ice would make this extremely difficult.
Anybody else having trouble getting it to load?

If the HRRR verifies it would honestly be worse than Dec 2002. Larger area of 0.5-0.75"+ ZR totals followed up by a squall line at the end with some breezy to gusty winds, just enough to knock down trees and power lines.

We lost the neighborhood roads in 15 minutes tonight
Reports of flurries on the far east side of Athens/Clarke county. Hydro classification supports that
700-800mb massive warm nose being served up piping hot.
23 degrees/ DP 2 around Lake Lynn. Light to moderate IP. Occasional flake if I squint hard enough.
Very heavy sleet now, almost looks like some snow mixed in it. 18/11

Guys .. this much WAA over a continuing colder CAD wedge? The dry slots the HRRR is having are very unlikely to happen.

Currently Ip/ZR mix in south Charlotte. Seems to be accumulating more like sleet. Picture is of a patio table cover.
I bet I’ve got snow right now at my house and am missing it
But I brought myself and my cats to my partner’s house in southern Chapel Hill because he’s got a better setup for if the power goes out. And we are 100% sleet here right now

I’d like to report that road conditions in my locale do not support ford ranger donuts… yet. Currently light mix ip/zr. There is a glaze on most things. Also radar looks anemic as hell.
