850s took a step back for many (this run popped a low off OBX lol) but manage <0c along/west of US-1. Your cold is simply coming from our arctic front swooping in and potentially overlapping with some of that precip. I may be missing something but precip looks to be mostly CVA driven? And that’s improved at 700 and 500 this run.

18z euro meanwhile stepped away from anything like a sharper digging trough.
Weaker low this gfs run. Trough broadened out a bit again but did produce some rate driven stuff over the 77 corridor ish

Solid trend for the NC high country this weekend! Ill be traveling to Beech, its gone from cold rain to more and more mix and snow for higher elevations.

Little noise on the GEFS but not much. GFS is so out to lunch with other system I don't know I want to get excited about it here Sunday night
not really a lot of forcing around. i think just hope for some flakes and know its not super likely atp
