For reference...this is a composite for RDU's past 14 or so "big" snowfalls...compared to day 7-12 on the GEFS....so yeah

Whew, lots of bangers showing up in there. This has always been the best timeframe in the blocking evolution for us to score. Glad to see there's finally some noise showing up.

You can see the gefs heat up along the baroclinic zone. With the main vorticity scooting out into the north Atlantic this is probably too suppressed but where you want it at d10+
