Tropical Hurricane Isaias

You mean to tell me this is now supposed to hit Hispaniola & go into the Gulf?

I'm so shocked ?

This isn't strengthening in a hurry, you can probably thus take the earlier solutions that had this moving east of Florida off the table. Although the NHC expects a tropical storm later today, that's probably not going to happen and given its current organization, I don't expect to see Isaias til later tonight or tomorrow at the very earliest

Imo, odds are this is going to interact w/ the Greater Antilles & probably end up in the eastern Gulf

It will be nice to have a actual for real LLC to track.

Better hope GEFS is wrong on the OBX track/East ...otherwise dry sinking air west of a hurricane in August would send actual temps over 100 around Charlotte and over 80 in the mountains.

A lot can change but lesser impacts north/west and greater south/east over the south/east states given the setup. So maybe florida to costal Carolinas for some heavy rains.

I think it gets stronger then models think if it enters the gulf. Hanna is a prime example of that and caught people off guard. Texans was surprised by the strong wind

US Virgin Islands and Puerto are experiencing a severe drought. Hope they get blasted by this. Could bring in a lot of $$ for agriculture.

Gonna be crucial to see what the north end does. Convection blowing up in the northern end. GFS is adamant that the northern end takes over and mostly avoids Hispaniola to the north

Yeah I've been watching that area that's now around 16N and 64W. The low cloud streams lead me to believe something is going on there in that northern zone.

The southern blob seems to be dissipating and as it does the low clouds dont look like there's anything at the surface there.

Now strong convection is firing in the southern lobe again ??

Yeah but as that cirrus canopy eroded and we could see the surface I just didnt see anything that makes me think theres a surface reflection there.

Up around 16N and 64W you can see the low clouds streaming north just along the islands and south out by PR. Tells me that's where the wave is sharpest.

Well did the Euro just pull the rug out from the idea it’s going into the gulf. Stay tuned! It’s only one run...Let’s see what happens in the next several runs.
