Misc General Banter Thread

22 SN/IP in my backyard? I'm going to hang it on my wall and throw darts at it during our light cold rain on Sunday

TT snow maps are not legit..it counts freezing rain as snow. But light cold rain on sunday?..in athens?... Not a chance..but i wish it were so. i know the amount of ice we are likely to get is going to be crippling so i would love for it to either go west of the apps with a screaming southerly jet or trend toward more of a sleet bomb. I'm dreading the snapping of trees and loss of power for potentially more than a week...even with a generator that is going to suck.

While the GFS is likely "out to lunch, in another city" here, I think the sleet depiction here is actually probably a good showing of where freezing rain will be most worrisome. Just probably need to shift it west just a "hair" more, but you don't need to shift it south.

I do have a feeling the Euro is off its rocker, but if it comes back around a bit, it'll only be a little glazing once you get to around I-20 generally.

I'm posting more here because I basically have nothing of value to add to the main storm thread, so I'll just say it's rather disappointing that in 2026 we still have serious run-to-run adjustments in <100 hours. Granted, it was ludicrous to believe the crazy ideas the GFS (and the Euro!!!!!) were spitting out a couple days ago - biblical ice storms and feet of snow don't just happen in the south - but then again when it was so consistent across several runs and several different models you scratch your head and really wonder. I mean sure it was outrageous but in the grand scheme of things outrageous things DO happen, March 1993, April 27th 2011, Hurricane Helene, etc.

Frustrating.

This might have been covered but there’s a lot of info flying about; will the 00 runs tonight have the hunter data?
Sounds like it will have some but more to come tomorrow by 12z
One thing of note now that this big hunk of sh*t storm has slowed to Saturday night starting for the Carolinas, we are still 3 days away so more changes to come i guess. Not sure which model is real good at 72hrs or who ain't anymore but I bet what they're showing today won't be the outcome...good or bad.

I am asking this in a genuine way, I am in Huntersville, NC north of Charlotte. I have access to borrow a generator... Do we feel like we are trending to an all rain situation or should I grab it and prepare for power outages. I see its all over the place and I am just asking guys here. I know what local mets are saying but wanted to get some opinions from here. Is the euro and others saying we are cold rain here? I know what the gfs is saying.
