Misc General Banter Thread

I think a famous coach said one time a prevent defense prevents nothing. It was true in the Panthers case. On the other hand, the Rams blitzed when the Panthers got the ball back and they didn't sniff a first down. I don't know why so many coaches revert to the prevent defense at the end of a half or game except for a Hail Mary situation.
Because they are spineless. Playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Need to put the pressure on the offense to make the plays, not just try to stay back and prevent them from scoring.

Panthers went to a prevent defense instead of just playing the defense they had been playing the rest of the game. Made it way too easy for him to hit receivers in the middle.

Completely agree, that’s why they lost the game. Played to prevent the big play, but they didn’t need it with 3 timeouts. Just kept getting chunk plays over the middle.

Then when we got the ball back, they brought the house and kept us from getting anything. Young never had a chance. That’s how you do it.

Dang we need a good 0z suite tonight to pull @stevoff the cliff! @mitchhad you positive for a couple days you have fallen to the Twister side of things!
We good for a 3 incher around the 18th homie..hang in there!

Looks like cold chasing moisture outside of TN, NGA and mountains!
I’ve been doing this a lot of years, it ain’t gonna work out!

Yeah, the lowcountry in SC is the Charleston area, NOT Myrtle Beach.

Technically south of the Santee delta is the cultural and geographic line. Plant nurseries make a killing around there though selling all the plants that live in Charleston but get zapped by the cold every year up here. Repeat customers guaranteed 😆

Why the upstate gets screwed so bad!

Yall live in the shadow of the highest, thickest peaks in Appalachian chain. Folks dont realize how many 6000 ft peaks are in SW NC. Doesnt get notary MT Mitchell, High country, gets. Rural and vast. Spent a lot of my late teens, early 20s navigating, fly fishing etc. The communties on the valley floors throughout the area hang out in 2000 ft range. So even they get screwed a lot on downslope winds. So many high ridges. No in between ground. The problem gets more compounded coming down the eastern escarpment into the upstate.
So cold air just doesnt dam up and come down on the lee side and thats it, like it does for everyone else east of the Apps. Yalls cold air has to go up and down numerous times before it can finally get free coming down to GSP, Saluda, Wahalla etc.

Great post. There is only one option for cold air to come from on the Lee side.

Somebody hit us with some good news! I’m tired of being a Debbie Downer this morning.
The good news is you're not in the upstate. Your chances are slightly better than ours. Does that help you? There isnt a worse place in the east to be with these types of patterns that upstate SC. The last few winters is proof of that.

Hard to argue with this. Bet the streak until it’s over. Sigh

That is true. A lot of folks speak from emotion, including me. And if I say it won't snow at all again this winter, which the streak says it won't, I'm speaking from emotion.

But not really speaking from emotion for next weeked. I'm really struggling to find anything positive for this period. That is certainly not the type of trough thats going to bring snow to us east of the Apps. Way too positive tilted. Its about pattern recognition at this stage and that ain't it. Maybe the only positive is its still a week out and can change.

I agree, it's nice to have the ridge/trough placement supportive of winter weather. However, it's downright frustrating that it takes perfect timing of multiple pieces of energy just to get a flurry east of the mtns. Perhaps the energy will dig deep and west enough that we can get a novelty event out of this one. My expectations are pretty low on this one..... just not feeling it at the moment.
