Misc General Banter Thread

Has there been a time where an ULL has dropped as much snow as being shown right now? I understand the bomb off the coast and its moisture but I just can't seem to see how the ULL will perform this well.

Holy crap! This is crazy. Whatever ends up happening, this model has not led the way and is just one of the pack now for me. What do think will happen?
AIFS on top of Google…I would take those 2 against any other model. And EPS mean is right there…but I don’t like that op euro, that was hideous.

I've "heard" of it with March 2009 (heard as I had my heart broken), but it's a kind of event that is slams head into desk caliber.

Like...CAE is going to have to issue a Winter Storm Warning for its entire viewing area based on everything I see, but as you get further southwest, from what I see with the banding and what not, it could easily be a case where one area gets 5" and the other area struggles to get more than an inch because of not enough good banding.

March 2009, I got 7 inches and thundersnow. It was pretty big for southern and eastern areas of the metro. That had more gulf moisture injection though. This ULL is mostly Atlantic sourced.

The Charlotte & Upstate crew are going to really like my call map lol

I formally issue a challenge to Mr. Upper Low. I bet you can't man up and deliver a big dog for the WHOLE upstate; even Pickens and Oconee. Go ahead, show me what you're made of. I TRIPLE DOG DARE YA.
Yeah, 2004 really left those 2 counties with very little. I'm not sure how those 2 counties did in 2009, but I know they missed in 2003 too. Didn't 2022 hit those areas nicely though. I know the GSP metro itself did nicely with it. I have not had 6+ here since 2004. Not even 2009 or 2014 could do it.

We lived south of Atlanta near Locust Grove in 2009 and I think we ended up with 5-6”.

My forecast today has increased and I think there is a decent chance we end up with a substantial snowfall here. Getting 3-4” out of this would be a real treat considering where this was for us just 36 hours ago.

With that said, I’m going to have a ton of joy seeing so many people on this forum cash in a massive snow. Been a long time coming for many of y’all. Haven’t gotten the 27th out yet, but I can’t wait to see this place explode in happiness this weekend.

May you get your dream!

And then…. You have to do all you can to get one more snow storm to hit for us folks to the west and into Alabama.

I don’t care if you all have to do a ritualistic, synchronized leaf blowers dance. Or open all your freezers all at once. Eat pudding with your fingers. Whatever works (cuz none of that would.). Get creative. Cuz we STARVED over here!!!

Describing this weekend's storm using fantasy sports terminology...

Locks - GSP and CLT.
Boom or bust - RDU
Sleeper picks - CHA and ATL

Idk how I feel about GSP-CLT being everyone’s pick ….. we’re cursed, it’s like Giglio says with state “Law of the Wolf” if it can go wrong it will

Nobody had blizzard for New Orleans on their picks for last year. Weirder stuff has happened.

This storm skipped me over, so it better damn well deliver to someone else just as mentally unwell and starved for snow.

There’s going to be some disappointed folks around here this weekend. The heavy band isn’t going to fall on everyone. Half are going to be excited and the other half disappointed. Just don’t know where that band is going to fall. The Raleigh NWS latest video talks about this. Good watch if you haven’t seen it.
