These are winds are actually insane in Walton county wasn’t expecting them to be this bad at 5 am

Sitting at 39 degrees this morning. Was supposed to be in the low/mid 60s by now. Need to get into the "warm sector" to see some storms. RAH says it's still coming:
......however the warm front is progressing nwwd across central NC and should be
through most, if not all, of the area by 12Z

Wow! 68 this morning in Goldsboro.

That's a lot of real estate covered in these thunderstorm warnings for Central North Carolina. I'm glad these warnings are along a continious line rather than being broken up into individual cells with this pattern in place. Then we might be talking about tornadoes.

Not really much damage at all in my neck of the woods. Power appears to be out for most of Coosa and clay counties though. I did get a wind shift as the weak meso passed by though.

Power has been out at my residence for a few hours now. No estimated return from ga power.

Been driving southern Talladega and western Coosa county, same story almost zero trees down. Power is still off for almost everyone east of Sylacauga and I know it’s off at my house and to some family in Clay. Had to be a twister that cut some decent sized lines in or around Alexander city.

This event was a prime example of impressive dynamics compensating for poor thermodynamics. We only needed enough instability to root the storms to the surface. The wind fields took over from there

Yes, but reading Webb’s post on analogs, I will say this is troubling. When things overproduce, they tend to keep doing so for some reason.

This was only the second time I ever remember the power going out before the wind hit. The only other time was the ATL tornado in June 2013. Always an eerie experience because you know sh-t is going down upstream from you and it’s about to get real 😬

That was some squall line, here on the Coast.. Heavy rain & High wind(s), NO thunder.. It was a prolific rainmaker..
