Pattern Fab Feb

Euro says it slides. The ridge over the south sort of gets muted as it slides west to east so it gains zero latitude. It exits where it enters View attachment 193860

Yeah, I think (it's think as I didn't turn on the wave map) the GFS had the wave, but it sent it to the moon. It really wasn't even something that was interesting in the lower half of NY.

The Euro AI might be a Middle Atlantic storm, I didn't look closely.

Jason, I found this video fascinating. This could be one explanation....

If it is true what he is saying, the effects could very well linger.

Thanks. I'll give it a look.

Here's an interesting one as well, talking about the magnetic pole shift, the weakening magnetic field, and the general magnetic shift happening throughout the solar system, and how all of that is manifesting here. Very interesting and comports with some of the things we're observing.

Is this weather science or prophesy 🤨

fwiw. The JMA is a near carbon copy of the 12Z Euro.

Of course, odds are that this threat goes poof on the 00Z runs, but who knows, as volatile as the long-range is, this is one of those deals that disappears for a couple of days only to show up again around day 5.

It's not unreasonable to observe a little system slipping across the southern tier next weekend. The flow pattern looks rather zonal, with at least some energy in the southern stream.

My feeling is that cold air may be the problem, but a little wintry weather isn't out of the realm of reality here. Worth watching.

Footprint reminded me of this. Bad memory, but a classic climo region footprint View attachment 193869
That’s one of my all time favorites. At that time I was living in McDowell county right over that 16 number. Pretty windy during that system, had 3 foot drifts in places in the yard

Pseudoscience? Maybe a meteorologist on here can explain

Now any other time we would see this and be getting excited. Where’s everyone at?
I presume it's because a lot of people are fatigued from the last storm, or just aren't that interested because Weathernext isn't showing much of a signal.

This one won't have nearly as much cold to work with, but the climo favored areas have a better chance at seeing accumulating snow.

Either jaded by a foot of snow or by repeatedly missing out.

Maybe it’s partially because the WxBell Euro AIFS ensemble mean overdoes snowfall as evidenced by it repeatedly having individual members with heavy snow in the Gulf or Atlantic while temperatures are way up in the 60s to 70s.

Possibly. Basically, as the protective shield of the earth weakens, charged particles from the sun can affect the atmosphere, the earth, and life on the earth with greater frequency and magnitude. You may have noticed auroras being visible fairly far south in recent years, for example. This is neither common nor comforting.

Almost everything can be effected by electrical input from the sky to technology to your heart. So maybe some actual science in there somewhere. 🤷‍♂️
