Observations Early 2019 S/E Heatwave Duration Record

CHS and GNV both have had 6 days in a row of record highs (new or tied)! What an impressive heatwave!
Like the news, not the Wx ... but then I told ya so ... ;)

Edit: BTW - that's one of 2 deep SE towns that are really cool; the other one was until they got greedy this year and demolished all the funky buildings from the University to downtown - to build graduate student housing that is and is gonna stay empty ... (if it ain't broke ...)

Yeah and CHS been beating out the very impressive heat wave of 1953 to boot. The record at KCHS is 98 tomorrow set in .. you guessed it 1953. Not expecting that tomorrow but could come very close it's a time battle against the sea breeze and potential convection.

Update. NWS CHS has confirmed the 79° low for 5/30/19 is in fact now the all time warmest low temperature reading for the month of May!

Today it is quite cloudy to start with convective debris and my concerns turn to if the atmosphere can actually get unstable enough to set up any convection without the necessary heating today.

The heatwave has passed! :D:D
We have a real live thunderstorm and it is pretty potent. Heavy rain and down to 78 and falling more! The lawn is very happy. :)

Ditto, bingo, except 88º (which is a far cry from 98º) ... :D
