Wintry December 23-26 2022 Winter Weather and Cold

I'm back to very light flurries and stuck at 35 degrees lol. So I expect you to go back too.

I'm holding out hope for a burst of some moderate snow from those returns building to our wsw to bring these temps down.

IDK… looking at OBS around CLT metro… surface dewpoints are rising. Basically between 15-19 across the area compared to around 9-12 early in the evening. I’ve definitely seen much dryer get overtaken with weak systems.

Usually I dont care for sleet but honestly any wintry accumulation is fine tonight :p.

The fact that we’re staying stuck at 35-36 definitely tells me theres a mesoscale sfc warm front somewhere nearby. I do expect a transition back to all snow eventually.

Yep my temp is 30.2/16.3 rn, i feel like once we start getting returns actually over CLT we will wetbulb quick

I really think hsv screwed the pooch on this one. Sooo many people are stuck on Roads all over the valley tonight cause there was basically no official warning of any kind until the roads were already freezing up. With so little mention and the official word consistently being no problems, folks went on about their business till it was too late.
