Post rain temps and obs. Lot of damage today in north-west NC from the wind. Schools closed and wasn’t too far off from a state record wind gust. Some folks lost their roof, many powerlines snapped and 421 in Wilkes was on fire and closed for an hour or so.

Sad, but why do we need this thread?

Other gusts today: Mount Airy NC 46mph. Blowing Rock 77mph. Sparta 45mph.

I was bouta post it on here but brad beat me to it on Twitter, anyways we got some bright banding but surface temps are to warm, get them down below 45 degrees and things get interesting 24A3E244-74B1-49A3-8A43-95A93EDA23E2.png

37 in Wilkes at 3pm. 50s in Boone and 60s in Raleigh. King of CAD here.

Jealous of Columbia, SC sitting at 75. I Was in the 30s with rain most of yesterday. Finally peaking above 50 in Wilkes.

Two days ago the forecasted high for today was 68, its 55 right now

24.8 this morning and a very solid frost, even saw some hoarfrost this morning in the trees around some of the creeks. Creeks still relatively warm and enough vapors to produce same overnight, looked really cool.

25 with the thickest frost of the season so far in Wingate, NC this morning. Forecasted low was 30
