I ended up being one of the lucky ones to get the disease before my shot took effect. Ended up going to the hospital last week for a couple of days and ended up with the pneumonia. The loaded me up with 3 treatments of remdesivir and that ended up killing the virus out of me. Now it's going to take time to get my lungs back to normal.
Oh no, hope you continue to improve! Which shot did you get?

Sorry to hear that. I’m sure it frustrates you now with people who are anti-vaxx and think covid is much to do about nothing. If everyone only had your perspective....

I hope you improve quickly. You’re very lucky you left the hospital alive, it’s likely that first shot helped at least a little bit.

Prayers going up for ya. I never reached the point of vaccine and didn’t require a hospitalization. I got regeneron on day 10 of symptoms, all accounts I’d say it was a mild case, but here I am 7 weeks later still fighting the effects. O2 be great but at times it hurts or seems impossible to take a really deep breath. Get headaches, upper body weakness and still not much of an appetite. I think I also have what I’ve heard called covidsomnia, I can go to bed and end up wide awake a few hours later unable to go back to sleep even though I’m exhausted. I think what might have made my symptoms worse is the fact that when I got Covid I was probably pushing 335 lbs and have high bp and vitamin d3 deficiency, essentially enough to make a really bad outcome. I lost easy 25 lbs during the actual sickness and I have continued to lose weight due to walking 2 hrs a day and watching my diet. I’m now down to about 295, a 40 pound drop in about a month in a half. I had a ct done today of my lungs for my pulmonologist to review because last month I had a ct of pelvic area for kidney stones and it just caught the bottom of my lungs and it showed some scattered ground glass opacities in my left lower lobe. I’m praying this has cleared up and the rest of my lungs are ok. I use a spirometer just about every hr to try and strengthen them and pulmonologist ordered me a nebulizer that I use Ipratropium and albuterol on my really bad days. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share what I’m experiencing and again my prayers are with you. I told my wife when I hear someone say this is just the flu, I want to smack them into next week. Yea majority do recover quick and have no lasting issues, but seems like the ones fighting issues are on their own

Praying for your lungs to get healed and back to normal

One thing I’ve noticed or I guess it just hit me earlier. My case of Covid seemed to hit my gastro system the hardest. I literally had diarrhea for almost 3 weeks and severe and I mean severe gas. Mainly belching like trapped gas. If my ct of my lungs come back clear, I’m wondering if gas may be my issue. I know I’ve had gas pains bad enough in my chest to make ya think it was a heart attack. I happened to think as well that I’ve been eating a boatload of broccoli. I’m taking a b complex vitamin , 5000 iu of D3, a magnesium zinc and calcium vitamin and a multi vitamin at night. I’ve tried some gas x but doesn’t seem to help. I read an article earlier that those that get their gastro system attacked can be looking at a 2-3 month recovery. I’m also drinking some probiotics since I had a antibiotic

I’m convinced my current flare up of IBD is caused by COVID back in august . My doctor doesn’t seem to think so since no research says so. I do though . ---- China . Hope I live to see the day the entire Chinese nation collapses and rots into hell.

I agree with you, I deal with ibs and also diverticulosis and have had 1 case of diverticulitis. Along with the extreme belching and gas pressure, I’m dealing with painful bloating in my lower stomach just under belly button. I’m convinced it’s related.

It has to be I mean how could it not be if the virus quite literally sets off a crap ton of inflammation?

I just had an upper endoscopy done due to sustained weight loss since I got covid. Turned out I have really bad gastritis. My entire stomach lining is bright red. Now I’m on a special diet and the only “treatment” is avoiding food/drink that makes things worse. Funny thing is I’m a pretty healthy eater, I also don’t smoke or drink. Don’t drink soda or carbonated beverages or coffee. I don’t even drink fruit juices— only water. So to say it’s odd is an understatement. People they see with gastritis usually have a very obvious cause. I’m hopeful it just heals in time.

There’s just a lot we don’t understand about covid-19’s lasting impact and I just hope people realize it’s not just about the headache or cough, and it’s not just the flu..

I’m guessing if my lungs check out, the gastrologist will be my next dr I see

For all you gastro ailment sufferers I am with you. After my 5 month hell with cdiff I now take probiotics about every other day and my gastro symptoms have improved considerably.
I’m tired , taking 20-30 ----- a day is no fun. I think I’m going insane at this point . I’m trying to see if I can go to UNC and meet with their specialists. My gastro doctor already used up all his options .

Yeah I feel your pain. I use to have horrible issues and still can but it's much more rare now. I noticed it got better 8 years ago when my gall bladder was removed and then when I started this alternating probiotics regimen.

I was going 50+ times a day at my worst when I had Cdiff.
