The Scavino video is laughable-as is most of what comes from the former president and his team. The government funded the research and development of vaccines. While scientists across the globe busted their asses to get us where we are, the former president and his team denied the severity of the situation-repeatedly putting the country at risk. When the vaccine was approved his team was unable to get it to the people because that wasn't his main focus...he was too busy harassing state government officials trying to overturn election results that made him sad.

I'm glad the government funded Warp Speed. Let's not pretend trump was in a lab working his magic or that he had a rollout plan to get the maximum amount of doses in the arms of as many people as possible.
 
Wonder when NC is just going to open vaccines to all? Seems like there’s a lot of line skipping going on at this point and I know a lot of young, healthy people getting it (some before my parents were able to, which kind of bothered me). I’d take one now if it were offered to me, but I feel morally iffy about cutting line, and at this rate if they stick to the planned phases I probably won’t be able to get it until May (group 5). Of course, I could just lie and say I’m a smoker and be eligible in five days, which is how dumb this system is. Old people first made a lot of sense, but now it’s just a mess.

I donated blood yesterday and they run an antibody test, so I’m interested to see the results from that (though I anticipate them to be negative).

I'm in group 3 due to my profession, so that's how I was able to get it. When my employer sent out the email with the link to the county's health dept. sign up, I happened to be in my email and just did it right then and there. I later heard that all the spots were gone within a few hours, and maybe they might open more appts. next week.

This whole "Open to everyone now" business is more political theatre. It's a feel good press release. There aren't any extra slots being allocated to support the increase in availability. The only thing that will happen now is more people vying for the same number of slots as there have been.
