Coronavirus (Stay on Topic)

Has anyone here recovered from Covid but still have issues with smell? I had Covid in September. Not a mild case. But hospitalization not required. One of my biggest symptoms at the time was not a loss of smell but that i smelled things that were not there. It would alternate between electrical burn to a strong soapy perfume. It would cause my nose and lips to burn. I had this symptom for weeks after I recovered. Have not experienced it in about 2 months.
Until today. It got so bad at work I had to go out side to try and get fresh air as I was getting sick from smell. I share an office and no one else smelled anything. I’ve read a few articles that others continue with phantom smells long after Covid recovery. Just curious if anyone else has this issue.
I don’t think she’s had this problem lingering like you, but my aunt also had experienced terrible smells when she had Covid, as opposed to outright losing her smell. Interesting to hear someone else report that variant of the symptom as opposed to outright losing their sense of smell.

Also there is a new COVID-19 variant detected in Brazil called N501Y.V3. It has both the N501Y mutation (increases transmissibility,/no changes to severity, no changes to vaccine) and the E484K mutation (reportedly reduces antibody neutralization, unknown if vaccines are less effective (studies ongoing)).

Idk where the Covid thread is but I’ll post this here

Those are what we classify as tonic/clonic movements. They are normally seen in grand mal seizures. In those instances the person is normally unconscious. There are multiple accounts of this happening after the moderna vaccine administration. There’s a reason I won’t get it until the kinks are worked out. This crap was fast tracked and didn’t undergo the normal multi-year testing that occurs when trying to bring a new medication to market. Here is a peer reviewed article on incidents of this occurring in children after vaccine administration. I’m not anti-vacccine. I’m anti “not following usual guidelines for testing on developing a vaccine”.

What about the Pfizer one?

First time I can remember the 7-day average for hospitalizations hasn’t been a record in months. Encouraging news, hopefully.

I drive by the testing site here in Greenville on my way to work and over the last couple weeks even before they open at 7am I would see 30 to 40 cars waiting on the access.road as early as 615am. Some mornings there were enough cars they opened early and moved the line inside the parking lot to relieve traffic.

So far this week it's been much fewer. In fact the last 3 mornings when I got off work and drove by at 7:45 there were less than 20 cars in line. A significant decrease......I'm hopeful!

Sister and I had it this am, so far fine!

My mom came down with Covid late last week. A little winded but she is fine and has been outside working in the yard all day today. Says she would prefer getting Covid over the flu. I would agree
