Just had a meeting at work where they are freaking out because we only had 13 cases from May to December but they've had 11 people go out with positive cases since Thanksgiving.

I'm going to start this off by saying i'll get the vaccine, I personally don't have a problem with it. My only hesitation, and I'm sure some will label me a christian conspiracy theorist, is how they plan to identify who's received and not received the vaccine.

First, we should acknowledge up front that we doubt the government will impose mandates on civilians. We could be wrong about this, and if they do occur, we will have to confront those challenges as they arise. We think it more possible that employers or businesses require their employees or customers to provide evidence of vaccination to return to work or patronize their businesses. Considering the role of the market in guiding consumer choices, we believe that customers have tremendous ability to register their protest or compliance with the expectations of private businesses. Given the constitutional freedoms private businesses enjoy, they will each have to determine—to their own success or detriment—what type of compliance policies to require of their employees or customers.

How will people show they received it? Is it a card or that yellow card from your Doc, then sign me up.

But.... (and i'm sure I don't need to quote it for you...)

Revelations 13: 16-17

16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

I think it's also a pretty weak Christian article to discuss this vaccine, particularly that point, and completely ignore this point.

Well, the argument is that the vaccine’s efficacy isn’t 100%, and so the people who didn’t get it could still potentially give it to the people who did get it, and if enough people theoretically didn’t get the vaccine, herd immunity wouldn’t develop as quickly as it otherwise might.

But nevertheless I agree that it is wrong to force people to take this vaccine.

I didn't know that. Thanks SuperJames!

That right there could be reason enough to make the lockdown much tighter. NOTHING open except grocery stores and pharmacies along with other absolutely essential things such as doctors offices, hospitals and police.
Do you work for a living?

LOL. The mark of the beast. Get a grip.

Well these men are scholars in the field of Christian ethics, and you can’t possibly cover every single point/counter point, but I don’t think it is weak to ignore this particular point (for reasons that should probably be discussed in the religion thread).

Here's my question regarding the vaccine:

Put 10 people in a room, and 5 get the vaccine and 5 don't.

If the 5 who don't get the vaccine get sick, why do the people who got the vaccine care? You got the vaccine, so carry on with your business.

Because there are people out there that are unable to get vaccinated cause of allergies or are immunocompromised. They are also the people you are trying to protect by getting the rest of the population vaccinated.

Maybe a better way to look at this is to point out that we all have an immunization record. Most of us don't think twice about the immunization record that we have for our children that we are required to have in order to enroll them in daycare and public school, etc.

Some states, not all, do allow for exemptions on religious grounds, and my guess is this will be the case for COVID too. If and when companies/governments attempt to make the vaccine mandatory, rest assured it will end up at the Supreme Court, where I imagine the present make up of the court will rule in favor of those seeking exemptions.

I’m not and I have leukemia. It was rushed into production in under a year when the normal timeframe is 3-5 years. Nope. Not taking it. They can kiss my bulbous hairy ass.

I’m considered high risk too. The rushed testing and approval is worrisome. I’ll wait until more than a few people die from it, they take it off the market, then get it correct before I take it. You better hope you don’t die from it because there’s a higher probability of dying from it than not.

They aren't going to get taken off the market. There is nothing at all to suggest there is any safety issues here.

--------. Take your blinders off. There are lots of safety issues. Do you have any idea how long approval for a drug takes? 3-5 years.

There are instances of people getting Bell’s palsy from it. They can get taken off the market if there are high enough incidents of adverse reactions. The testing phase was cut in more than half and clinical trials only lasted 6 months. That’s a problem.

I’m confused by this — you’re at a high risk of contracting COVID? Or just high risk of contracting anything because of underlying health conditions? Are you saying there’s a higher probability of of dying from COVID than not?

I have leukemia. Stage 1. Higher probability of an adverse reaction and death from the shot due to rushed testing.
