After 537 pages, we've come to the conclusion that: Masks help. No they don't. Yes they do. No they don't. Yes they do. No they don't.

Maybe the next 537 pages will solve it! ?
I blocked myself from this thread. 7+ months of the same things from the same people I had to tap out. God speed to those still posting

9/11 is low hanging fruit and the modern day gold standard, although I think post Covid will rival that when all is said and done. Great Financial Crisis also, but more of the regulations were finance related. The general trend is, we get less free as time goes on. That's always the way it is, all throughout history.
Agree on the 911 stuff. Are we still taking our shoes off? Can't keep track.
I think as long as this virus goes away with vaccination there will be little change to day to day life outside of vaccines (which isn't necessarily new). If it doesn't get better i really don't know, things will probably be different or we will see a lower life expectancy.

South Park never ever fails to entertain me ! What other show is running over 20 years now and still produces bangers like that ?

Any show that has as one its characters a special for Christmas taking poop that sounds like Mickey Mouse, wears a red Santa hat, and leaves a brown stain wherever it jumps can't be all bad. That show is the sh*t!

I guess my question is does getting the vaccine=no more wearing masks???
Masks will be necessary for a while. We have to get a majority of the population vaccinated before we can get things under control. The question is how many are actually going to go get one that determines how long we will need the masks.

Wearing Mask is all about psychology.

Masks and respirators do not work.

There have been extensive randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies, and meta-analysis reviews of RCT studies, which all show that masks and respirators do not work to prevent respiratory influenza-like illnesses, or respiratory illnesses believed to be transmitted by droplets and aerosol particles.

Furthermore, the relevant known physics and biology, which I review, are such that masks and respirators should not work. It would be a paradox if masks and respirators worked, given what we know about viral respiratory diseases: The main transmission path is long-residence-time aerosol particles (< 2.5 μm), which are too fine to be blocked, and the minimum-infective dose is smaller than one aerosol particle.

The present paper about masks illustrates the degree to which governments, the mainstream media, and institutional propagandists can decide to operate in a science vacuum, or select only incomplete science that serves their interests. Such recklessness is also certainly the case with the current global lockdown of over 1 billion people, an unprecedented experiment in medical and political history.

They don't work? Well then why in the world do doctors need to wear masks during surgery then?

Madison County just had a briefing at noon about the spread in North Alabama. Huntsville Hospital System now has more inpatients than in July which is 270. 2 hospitals in their system have 1/3 of their patients as Covid, Decatur-Morgan and Marshall Medical Centers. They also stated that the positively rate in North Alabama is a whooping 20-30%. Also out of 2900 tested over the last week or so that only 5 cases of flu were found. They said it will get alot worse before it gets better and hospitalization rates could be up to 50% more than now.

To the uninformed, this would look like covid is nothing but this is a moot point. Suicides in Japan per the article have killed 17k this year so far, but look at the overall suicides in Japan per year over the last 9 and it's actually continuing to decline.

Looks like there might be some evidence that cases are starting to top out on this wave to me, although that could be deceiving. We’ll see. Hospitalizations continue to spike precipitously. Meanwhile, deaths hit 2,000 today for the first time since the first wave in the spring and the average per day is above 1,500, approaching the highs of the first wave in the spring (having already surpassed the second wave in the summer).

I've heard not one but many medial scientists say that a mask, if worn correctly, significantly reduces the volume of virus that comes out into the room from an infected person's mouth/nose.

I think they help but are of course not 100%. My wife has been exposed off and on since August and currently has a couple positives she has to handle close contact. She tests weekly and has always been negative. My friend doing studies has also been close contact and remained fine so far. Masks help anyone who wants to argue otherwise can go work around sick people and see how long it takes for them to get sick.

It was on the news today that people have been flooding the testing facilities so they can feel freed for thanksgiving. We’ll probably have a big spike in the next five days just due to the volume.
