Yeah. What we did then with far fewer cases is what we should be doing now but we blew the shot by going into that too early. Its Monday morning QBing though. We had very few details and a lot less knowledge then than we do now.

What we need is OTC quick testing kits. We need to do what China does. If they can't test a city of 11 million in a week and quarantine the sick people to prevent spread why cant we?

To me rapid and widespread testing on massive scales is our best chance going forward.
Well they are only able to do that shaggy because they circumvent any rights we have here to make it happen !

Testing mandate?

You know we wouldn't get enough compliance for that

All this would do is push out the increase in cases.
Folks dont get it. All you do with lockdowns is essentially kick the can down the road. Eitheir you get the vaccine or face up to contracting the virus. 99%+ of those who do catch the virus want even know they had it or recover. The original only reason for the lockdowns back in March was to not overrun the hospitals. Now here we are with certain govenors telling us to limit Thanksgiving guest.

Yeah pretty much. We dont like to talk about it but they are outright kicking our ass in controlling covid sure they lied about the initial outbreak and number of deaths. When they test 11 million people because they had 12 cases and they isolate the cases then they are far better capable of slowing the spread.

That is not true. 99% will not "not even know they had". Its a very dangerous virus that effect people differently.

Good luck with that

If bamlanivimab is legit at keeping people out of the hospital it could be a decent hold over until a vaccine. At least then you aren't getting hospitalized if you contract it

What’s that survive rate again? 98-99%?
Maybe it's just me but that fatality rate is scary for something so contagious (yes i know its skewed by older population). Family of 5 get it and you are looking at a 10% chance of someone dieing (ignoring age skew). Then we have health impacts for people surviving and potential hospital bills.

I’m still curious it’s really contagious, or if it is there is a good number of people that are immune. I know the following in my “close” family.

Family of 6 - 1 positive with flu symptoms

Family of 4 - 1 positive with a sniffle/very light fever for a day.

Family of 6 - 1 positive with flu symptoms

vs

My “then” family of 6 in 2018 - 6 positive with flu at the same time.

"99%+ of those who do catch the virus want even know they had it or recover. " key word or. Should have said or recover if they did have symptoms.
